Having submitted our bid to Learn about Livestock 2025, we were very lucky to have been 1 of only 20 schools selected to host a ewe and her lamb for a week in March. We were even more delighted when our guests arrived, and we had twin lambs to look after, as well as their mother.

The pen was housed in our Early Years space, and the children had the opportunity to learn outside the classroom, spending lots of time assisting with their care. Our four key values are courage, curiosity, compassion and character, and the children have displayed all of these characteristics during this invaluable experience.

Principal, Ms Greene said:

"Having the sheep here has provided a wonderful opportunity for the children. They have made lots of links across different curriculum subjects and relished the opportunity to work together in their houses to take care of the sheep. We hope very much to be able to host our fluffy guests again!"

Learn about Livestock is organised by the Food & Farming Discovery Trust, the project is sponsored by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and supported by the East Anglia branch of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, Three Rivers & Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership,  and The Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association.
